I can't believe I forgot to mention that this is National Banned Book Week. This week brings attention to books that are being banned in our libraries and our schools. The organization believes that banning books is shutting out ideas in peoples minds. Some of the books that have been banned include A Wrinkle in Time, Huckelberry Finn, Bridge to Terabithia, Harry Potter just to name a few. Basically, they ban books that deal with deep spiritual ideas.
It's really sad to me that a book is banned because it encompasses an idea that a child or someone can use to enlighten or grow something inside themselves. That something is considered bad because it can free us or enlighten us.
To honor this week I would recommend either reading a banned book or give a banned book to someone as a gift. I'm not into the political chaos that reigns in our world, but this idea and concept is something I do stand behind. If want a list of the books that have been banned I would suggest to see the website. Just type in national banned book week in your search.
Good blessings.
Good Day,
Bria
